ISHRAT RAUFF

Ishrat is the holder of an Honours degree in Civil Engineering from Imperial College of Science & Technology, London. He obtained his Associateship of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. UK and possesses a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Melbourne Business School, University of Melbourne, Australia.

Mr. Rauff counts almost twenty years in the financial industry in areas as diverse as Stockbroking, Corporate Credit, Foreign Exchange Trading, Treasury Management, Fund Management and Investment Banking. He specialises in the field of Islamic Finance, having spent a decade in the industry and being responsible for the start-up of three companies within the same group in the areas of Investment Banking, Asset Management and Stockbroking. He has served in the capacity of CEO in these organisations and also served on the Boards of several companies in a group that pioneered Islamic Finance in Sri Lanka.

He serves on the Board of UTO and is largely responsible for directing its strategy.↑Top

RAZANA YOOSUF

Razana is an experienced professional with a significant track record in business and IT in a range of large organisations and industries. Major companies, that she worked for include Gillette (UK) and Kraft Foods (Australia) in the field of FMCG/Manufacturing, Tesco, UK and Coles Myer (Australia) in retail, Hewlett Packard and KPMG in the area of Consulting / IT Services and Colonial Mutual, Australia in the field of Insurance. She also worked for over 5 years at Telstra, Australia’s largest organisation.

She has an Honours degree in Computer Science and Statistics from University, College, London, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK. She is a key stakeholder in UTO and will shortly assume a Board position in the company.↑Top

FAZAL BAHARDEEN

Fazal holds an International Masters in Management from Management School of Lyon, France and Masters Degree in Computer Applications and Bachelors Degree in Telecommunication Engineering. He has completed Executive Programmes from Stanford University, USA, National University of Singapore (NUS), Ashridge Management School, UK and London Business School, UK. He also holds a Diploma in Islamic Banking & Finance from the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM). He is a member of IEEE (USA), corporate member of IET (UK) and a Chartered Engineer (CEng)

Having spent 19 years in the telecommunication industry in various countries where he has held senior regional positions, he is currently involved in several start-up ventures in Islamic Banking Training, Real Estate & is a consultant in Telecommunication projects globally.↑Top

M.H.M.RAFIQ - Director

Mr. Rafiq has mainly been involved in the insurance industry in a working career that spans over four decades. He held the position of Managing Director of P&I Insurance Brokers in 1987 and then Ackland Insurance (Brokers) Ltd. in 1990.

He retired from this post in 1996 in order to devote more time to his personal business interests. These interests are extremely diverse and he serves on the Board of several Companies in the areas of Education, Healthcare, and Real Estate, just to name a few. He is also on the Board of Amana Takaful Ltd, a company listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange. ↑Top

ROZANA RAUFF

Rozana is the Managing Director of the UTOPIA group of companies and a director of UTO EduConsult. She is an Associate of the Institute of Bankers, (AIB), Sri Lanka.

In addition to working in Hatton National Bank (HNB), which is a leading commercial bank listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange, for over 14 years, she also had an overseas stint lasting almost two years at ANZ in Melbourne, Australia. Rozana’s experience includes Credit Cards, Retail and International banking and she was a much-sought after resource person for the Training Centre at HNB.
