UTO EduConsult (Pvt.) Ltd.

UTO EduConsult (Pvt) Ltd. (UTO) has hosted several landmark events and has established itself as a key player in the MICE industry in Sri Lanka. Initially set up to conduct seminars and workshops for a very select market, the company has since expanded its operations to include the hosting of conferences. The two main events it has hosted, and will continue to conduct on an annual basis, are the Sri Lanka Islamic Banking & Finance Conference and the Inaugural Halaal Conference and Exhibition.

The seminars/workshops hosted by UTO cater to a niche market, which has hitherto been untapped. For instance, UTO was the first company in Sri Lanka to host a seminar on Islamic Banking & Finance, where senior lecturers from the prestigious International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) comprised the panel of speakers.

Seminars on specialised areas such as Mergers & Acquisitions followed soon thereafter, with resource personnel flown in from Australia. Its events have also seen guest speakers from countries as diverse as South Africa, the United Kingdom, USA, Bahrain, the UAE, India and Mauritius. This is in addition to reputed speakers from Sri Lanka, who have all contributed in enhancing UTO’s reputation as a provider of quality events.

Key personnel at UTO have also been invited to speak at various international events. For instance, Ishrat Rauff has been invited to conduct a programmes in the Maldives, in conjunction with the Chartered Institute of management Accountants (CIMA) and he has also spoken at International events such as the World Islamic Banking Conference (WIBC) in Bahrain, the International Islamic Finance Forum (IIFF) in Dubai, UAE and the Indian Shariah Finance Summit in New Delhi, India.
